  • Coronavirus: Boris Johnson could stay in isolation beyond tomorrow as symptoms continue

    Original source link: https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/coronavirus-boris-johnson-could-stay-21801063

Boris Johnson could be forced to delay his exit from self-isolation after Downing St confirmed the PM was still showing symptoms.
Speaking on Thursday morning, the Prime Minister's spokesman told reporters that Mr Johnson "continues to have mild symptoms but he does still have symptoms".
    Close
He added: “Were following the guidelines from PHE and from the chief medical officer which states that you need to self isolate for a period of seven days so no change in that.”

Asked if leaving isolation while still displaying symptoms was reckless, Downing St said the Prime Minister would follow medical advice.
Mr Johnson's spokesman said: “We will follow the guidelines and we will follow the best UK medical and scientific advice, you can rest assured on that.”

Pushed on if that meant the PM would be sticking to his original plan of leaving isolation on Friday, the spokesman said: “What i said is we will follow the best medical and scientific advice.”
He continued: “We’re fully aware of what the guidelines are and we’re fully aware of what the advice of the CMO is on this. We will follow that to the letter.”

  • Eight signs that could show you have had coronavirus already

    Original source link: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/eight-signs-could-show-you-18009435

Some people across the country are convinced that they have already had the coronavirus.
Official figures would rule that out - but research carried out by Oxford University's Evolutionary Ecology of Infectious Disease group suggests that there might be some truth in the claims - although other scientists have cast doubt on the idea.
The research claims that Covid-19 may have reached the UK by mid-January at the latest, reports the Mirror online.
The study, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, says the disease could have been spreading for weeks before the alert went out at the end of February.
However the Oxford research has been questioned by many experts, who claim that the report is based on assumptions.
The only real way to be sure if you have already had coronavirus would be to be tested.

Here are eight symptoms that may suggest you have already been infected by the coronavirus:

    Eye infections
New research has indicated that an eye infection such as conjunctivitis may be a symptom of Covid-19.
The College of Optometrists said: "It is recognised that any upper respiratory tract infection may result in viral conjunctivitis as a secondary complication, and this is also the case with Covid-19.
"However, it is unlikely that a person would present with viral conjunctivitis secondary to Covid-19 without other symptoms of fever or a continuous cough as conjunctivitis seems to be a late feature where is has occurred."

    A dry cough
Perhaps the most recognisable of the Covid-19 symptoms, given how different it can sound compared to a typical cough.
The cough is generally new for you - or different if you generally have a smoker's cough - and persistent.
More often than not it will last for at least half a day.

    Mental fatigue
Although this has not been officially chalked up as a symptom, Covid-19 sufferers have reported experiencing mental fatigue.

    A high temperature
Although numbers vary for different people, a rise in body temperature generally counts as a fever once it reaches 37.7C (100F).
You can tell you have a fever if you feel hot to the touch on your chest or back.

It's difficult to catch your breath
If your chest starts to feel tight or you cannot breath, you may have caught the coronavirus.
Most young people or those without pre-existing health conditions are unlikely to experience this symptom.
Dyspnea - the term for when someone has difficulty breathing - may be coupled with a tightness in the chest, rapid breathing and heart palpatations.

Loss of sense of smell and taste
Over the weekend the British Association of Otorhinolaryngology warned that losing your sense of smell and taste may mean you have Covid-19.
The ear, nose and throat specialist recommended anyone with such symptoms self-isolate immediatley.
It has been suggested that the phenomena may be caused by the coronavirus killing cells in the nose and throat.

    Tummy ache
As with a loss of appetite, enduring a tummy ache may easily be passed off as a sign of something more innocuous.
However, a newly published study by the American Journal of Gastroenterology links tummy problems to Covid-19.
They found that 48.5% of 204 people who have been infected by the coronavirus in China's Hubei province had digestive symptoms such as diarrhoea.

    Physical fatigue
Another common symptom of Covid-19, as well as cold, flu and many viruses in general, is feeling tired or fatigued.
Being told to rest is common when you’re ill, but feeling tired and not being able to sleep due to coughs and difficulty breathing, can make things all the more difficult.
Jaimuay Sae-ung, 73, was the first Thai national to contract coronavirus in December last year.
Despite having underlying health conditions, including a heart problem, Jaimuay survived the illness after doctors isolated her at a hospital in Thailand for treatment.

  • US bought France-bound face masks for CASH from China – French official to RT

The US bought out a planeload of Chinese-made face masks right on the tarmac just as the haul of the much needed protective gear was about to set off for France, the head of a French region told RT.
Facing shortages of protective equipment amid the coronavirus outbreak, France has turned to China to procure the much-needed face masks.

After French legislature adopted a law on the emergent medical situation, local authorities were able to place an order on the equipment in China, paying for it upfront. All in all, his and other regions ordered some 60 million masks, the head of the south-eastern Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region Renaud Muselier told RT France on Wednesday.

“The masks have been already produced and are currently in China. There are troubles with their delivery, though,” Muselier said, adding that the haul was set to arrive in France on Thursday evening.

The country, however, ran into unexpected logistics troubles and not-that-friendly competition from the US, Muselier revealed.

Today in the morning in China, the Americans bought out the French order for cash right on the tarmac. The France-bound plane departed to the US afterwards.

The local authorities will now have to stick to major logistics companies, Muselier said, to ensure that the haul is not outbid or bought out in the loading area again. He added that the delivery is now expected later this week.

The Americans are trying to procure any masks already available, disrupting deliveries to other nations, another report by French daily Liberation indicated.

“They pay double and cash, even before seeing the goods,” an anonymous source told the newspaper.

  • Thousands of Austin dockless scooters zoom off streets due to COVID-19

Posted By John Egan Mar 31, 2020, 9:00 am
    Original source link: https://austin.culturemap.com/news/city-life/03-31-20-lime-bird-dockless-scooters-austin-streets-due-to-coronavirus/
    Dockless scooters
Cars and trucks aren’t the only vehicles that are scarce on Austin roads these days. Operators have pulled thousands of dockless electric scooters off the streets of Austin in response to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

These moves come as dockless scooter traffic in Austin tumbled by more than 500,000 trips in March 2020 versus March 2019, according to City of Austin data. Last year, riders in Austin racked up nearly 5.35 million trips. Five dockless scooter companies are licensed to do business in Austin.

Lime, one of Austin's five scooter operators tells CultureMap that it has temporarily taken all 5,000 of its Austin scooters out of service. In a March 21 blog post, Lime said it was winding down service in all of its global markets except South Korea. It’s unclear when Lime bikes will return to Austin streets.

Meanwhile, Bird has temporarily removed an unspecified number of its e-scooters in Austin.

“To help discourage non-critical mobility during this time and to help flatten the COVID-19 curve, we are temporarily reducing our fleet size in Austin,” Bird says in a March 30 statement provided to CultureMap. “Our decision to reduce the fleet size is very fluid as the response to and recommendations regarding COVID-19 evolve and is in line with voluntary, as well as mandatory, measures set by local governments for businesses.”

Bird says it’s communicating with Austin officials about properly operating its remaining fleet of scooters and about the timing for bringing back its full fleet of “safe, clean transportation alternatives.”

Lime is the largest so-called “micromobility” company in the world; Bird ranks second.

Another operator, Spin, said in a March 23 blog post that it will keep serving Austin “as long as it remains safe for our employees and the public.” Spin remains up and running in some markets but has paused service in others.

A representative of Spin couldn’t be reached for comment.

Spin debuted as a bike-sharing company during the 2017 edition of SXSW. Ford Motor Co. bought Spin in 2018 for $100 million.

“We believe micromobility is necessary for some people now more than ever,” Spin said. “Some individuals still must complete essential trips to and from hospitals, grocery stores, and banks. In fact, we have seen local governments declare micromobility an essential service, and we have seen individuals choose micromobility over public transportation because it allows for social distancing.”

In Austin, travel by dockless scooter and other means is temporarily prohibited unless the user is obtaining “essential” services.

Representatives of two other electric scooter operators in Austin — Lyft and Uber-owned Jump — couldn’t be reached for comment.

Dockless scooter providers that are still operating in Austin say they’ve stepped up their cleaning of scooters to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The COVID-19 crisis — including the cancelation of SXSW — has put a massive dent in scooter traffic in Austin. In March 2019, the Austin Transportation Department recorded 740,476 trip on the dockless bikes. By comparison, the department tallied more than 173,000 electric scooter trips in March 2020.

  • Doctor Shares The Biggest Lie About COVID-19 | UK Data

    https://youtu.be/0ts8X3HDtPE

There has been a particularly harmful misconception which has led many to believe coronavirus is a trivial problem that won't affect them.

These are results from the first 775 patients admitted to intensive care in the UK, with COVID-19.

Time to put the misconception that this disease only preys on the elderly and those with significant medical conditions, to rest.

Erratum: Thanks to a couple of friends who pointed out that I should've been clearer with the deaths statistic - when saying around half have died, that refers to those with outcomes recorded, ie patients who have either left ICU alive or dead. Many of these patients are still in ICU right now, so the rate may change *however* if you click the link below you can see a steady state emerging between discharge alive and dead, suggesting the 52:48 ratio is probably about right.

  • Nick Ferrari's extraordinary exchange with Care Minister over pandemic test exercise

    Original link by LBC: https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/nick-ferrari/extraordinary-exchange-care-minister-coronavirus/

Nick Ferrari was involved in an extraordinary exchange with the Care Minister after she claimed the UK was well-prepared for the coronavirus pandemic.

Nick asked Helen Whately about Exercise Cygnus, an operation carried out three years ago to test the government's preparedness for a pandemic.

Ministers were warned that the UK would be overwhelmed by a shortage of critical care beds, ventilators, morgue capacity and protective kits. The findings from the exercise were deemed "too sensitive" to be made public and remain classified.

Nick suggested the government knew this was coming and didn't respond, but Ms Whately insisted it showed they were well-prepared.

She said: "The important thing is that we run pandemic flu exercises that for instance, in every area where you have a local resilience forum, they all had pandemic flu plans, which means to be ready to cope with coronavirus, it's been a matter of updating those plans for the specifics rather than starting from scratch, which puts us in a good place."

Nick queried whether we are actually in a good place and Ms Whately responded: "We are much better prepared than many other countries around the world because of the preparations that had already been made and the exercises that had already been carried out."

Again, Nick pointed out: "They spent three days going through this exercise, which showed holes all over the place and nothing was done by the Conservative government. Instead the austerity continued. How do you defend that, Minister?"

Ms Whately insisted she was unclear where that information was from and that really frustrated Nick, who had read it in the Sunday Telegraph the day before.

  • Why not Go Hoverkart?

I have seen so many bolgs and articles about hoverboard, especially hoverboard test and repair instructions take up a great many. But people still keep asking “what’s wrong with my hoverboard? “ “What gonna to do when my hoverboard is faulty?” So what is the point that sellers just keep pulishing these articles? I also write blogs but few, i just want to offer something that bring real needs to our customers. I found few articles on hoverkart, and i like to be different and i am sure i will.

There is no doubt that almost everyone knows hoverboard , but few is entitled to ride it well.We always heard from various hoverboard online store listing so many attentions while riding a hoverboard, even there is an attached PDF file named User's Manual telling you how to ride correctly and test rightly and so on. Does these things really take effect or work? Hard to tell but we find a way for those having troubles in learning how to ride or afraid of falling off. Yes, you must have heard the word "Hoverkart" and also "hoverkart bundle" , that is our key point today for this article.

So what is a hoverkart seriously?

Usually it features only one wheel itself in the very front but with no power to activate itself. To be frank, it is only a common seat made in sturdy plastic with 2 hand blocks assembled by several steel pillars.By the way, a hoverboard with a hoverkart equals to our hoverkart bundle, and price is cheaper when you order a bundle than you purchase them separately. In particular, our hoverkart is fit for all 6” 8” 10” hoverboards.

Here it is high time for a picture show :

What to do with a Hoverkart Bundle?

When an electrical hoverboard met with a hoverkart, then they found their perfect match. And i hope everybody on earth can also find the best match soul to ride out with each other. This item is definitely a magic potion for happiness, it strengthens interpersonal relationship such as family unity and friendship, and even it promotes growth of childhood.  Here we have a lot to do with a hoverkart bundle actually:

    Fulfil Dual Purposes

First , a hoverboard for driving with beautiful moves:

Commonly, a hoverboard can not only create a cool style to the rider itself during the free driving on wheels with flashing LED lights, making patterns of beautiful moves, listening to musics and let the motors bring you anywhere you want.

Here we have 6.5" 8" and 10" hoverboards, but to be short, i will only recommend the type our public prefers --- 6.5" hoverboards (chic & good & affordable),there are 3 choices in this category:

1.Classic hoverboard: without bluetooth but with leaf flashing lights under the pads.

As far as i know, pink is always popular among girls, welcome to have a visit.

-- NEW 6.5 inch Smart Electric Hoverboard without LED light - Peppa Pink

2.Bluetooth hoverboard: with leaf flashing lights under the pads.

A new color is worth recommendation, and i like it so much, anyone shares the same taste with me?

-- 6.5 inch Bluetooth Hoverboard With Updated Tires - Violet Cyan

3.LED Hoverboard: with bluetooth, leaf flashing lights under the pads and LED lights on the wheel.

This time, let's be fair, i would like to introduce a shining blue color that suits boys.

-- 6.5 Inch LED Self Balancing Hoverboard - Plating Blue

    Advisable Audience :

age above 6 , weight within 30-100 kg

In fact , you are free to choose your favorite hoverboard to match a hoverkart, we should not be tied to the fixed hoverkart bundle, choose what you love in heart.

Second,  this bundle also cares those who are not good at driving a hoverboard so as to avoid falling off and get hurt. Especially for kids, a hoverkart bundle is the best choice, reliable and safe to have great fun. It feels like you are sitting in a car with open air by controlling directions and speed by operating the hand blocks on both sides.

At last , i always advise people to have a try no matter what will happen, life is short, we just need to focus on moving ahead and never stop. When Dad taught me how to ride a bike , i learned to stand every time i fell off. So don't be afraid of uncertain things , hurt is doomed but it helps you to grow up.

But the life path is long but you are not alone. Get a hoverkart bundle for anyone you love deeply, and enrich his/her life journey by going hoverkart.
